The Leadership Courses are designed to train and develop individuals who posses the skills, knowledge and personality to training of scuba divers at all levels.

 

Training Assistant Assistant Instructor Dive Master Instructor Training Course

Do you have interest in assisting with scuba diving or leading divers during a dive? The possibilities are endless…. Everyone has a certain level they want to aspire to. For some, assisting new divers or assisting with advanced divers or a specialty is your goal. For others it can be becoming a scuba instructor and help others achieve their goal.

Training Assistant

If you possess the desire to assist in the training of other divers, a Training Assistant specialty course might be for you. This course will qualify you in the skills and knowledge necessary to perform as a training assistant during diver training sessions.

Certified Training Assistants are qualified to perform the tasks of:
* Temporarily directly supervise students
* Escorting student divers
* Assisting instructor with diver training and other tasks

PREREQUISITES
* Minimum 18 years of age
* Certified Advanced Scuba Diver and Rescue Diver
* Current CPR and First Aid certifications

Training Assistant is qualified to:
Directly supervise students, escort students at the surface and underwater and assist an active status NAUI instructor with improving the efficiency of diver training. The experience, knowledge and confidence you gain working as a Training Assistant can help you achieve your goal in becoming a NAUI member.

Assistant Instructor (AI)

The NAUI Assistant Instructor rating is a NAUI leadership-level certification.  The program is designed to introduce students to diving instruction basics. It also tests individuals in fundamental water skills needed to be capable assistants.  Certification authorizes Assistant Instructor to assist NAUI Instructors in the conduct of dive training.  NAUI Assistant Instructor certification is a required step in the progression to NAUI Instructor.

Additional training or experience is required by the Assistant Instructor who desires to assist in highly specialized training activities, such as deep diving, wreck penetration and technical diving.

Academics 13 hours        Practical Application 7 hours    Open Water Dives 1 full day

Divemaster (DM)

Would you like to lead dives and dive trips; take certified divers on vacations to the world's best dive sites? As a NAUI Divemaster you enjoy again and again adventures to which you introduce your clients.  Another option leading to NAUI Instructor qualification.

The NAUI Divemaster rating is the highest NAUI leadership-level certification with the exception of Instructor. The NAUI Dive Master program is designed to train experienced and knowledgeable divers to organize and conduct enjoyable open water dives for certified divers.

  • A NAUI Divemaster is qualified to organize and conduct dives for certified divers. Additional training, knowledge or experience is necessary for the Divemaster who desires to organize highly specialized activities, such as technical wreck penetration and other technical diver courses.

  • A NAUI Divemaster is qualified to organize and conduct NAUI Recognition (such as International Diver) and Experience Programs (such as a Stingray Experience) and award appropriate recognition materials to participants.

  • A NAUI Divemaster is qualified to assist a NAUI Instructor in diving courses.

Instructor Training Course (ITC)

A NAUI Instructor is a person dedicated to the motto of "Dive Safety Through Education"; a person whom others look to for leadership and knowledge. NAUI has always been and remains today the most prestigious agency focusing on diving instruction. You can share the adventure - and help create it! If you believe your work should be enjoyable and exciting, if you are eager to share your knowledge with others, if you believe that to train the best you must be among the best trained, join the finest. Join the adventure!

  • A NAUI Instructor may independently teach NAUI sanctioned courses and authorize NAUI certifications for graduates.

  • A NAUI Instructor may independently conduct NAUI recognition and experience programs and authorize formal recognition for graduates.

  • A NAUI Instructor is a voting member of NAUI.

The ITC is presented in two phases.  Phase One, called an Instructor Training Program (ITP), contains all developmental training.

The second phase of an ITC is called the Instructor Qualification Program (IQP), during which a NAUI Course Director must be in residence and all final evaluations will be made.

NOTE: All leadership courses require the individual to have taken Advance Scuba Diver, Rescue Diver, Master Diver, First Aid & CPR.
