Remember when shopping for a Scuba Course (like anything else) you must always look at what you are getting for your money. All training is not equal, so research what education you are truly receiving. Your focus should be on the training you are receiving and not the agency. Some weekend courses are short with pool only and possibly only 1 short session in the pool. Some classes only require you to perform a skill 1 time. To be proficient with a skill, one must practice it several times. There are still others who do not use a pool at all, they will train for a few hours at a quarry on a platform and then immediately take you out to start your open water. Some shops do all academics on line and no classroom for knowledge review is offered, it is assumed one will know and comprehend everything from e-learning. As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. Remember that this is your life underwater, and proper training is the difference between a confident qualified diver and a diver that couldn’t save his own life let alone his dive buddy. If you only want a scuba certification card, than any program is right for you. But, if you want to be a real qualified confident scuba diver, don’t skimp on your education and skills.
