DRY SUIT WORKSHOP
- April 29, 2008
THE NAUI DRY
SUIT WORKSHOP is by far the most comprehensive dry suit course
in this area. There are a lot of divers not receiving the proper
education on selection, care, maintenance and openwater training
with a drysuit. Your instruction will involve academics of
drysuit and thermal selection/usage, care, maintenance and
repairs, drysuit orientation during a pool dive and two
openwater drysuit dives. Call for

Dry Suits
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Proper
maintenance of scuba equipment is very important for several
reasons. Not only is it safer to use, but it lasts longer and
better maintains its value. This course will teach you the
proper care and maintenance from your mask to your wet suit
and/or dry suit to your Bc and regulator.
MARINE LIFE
Marine Life Identification Course
Novice
Diver or Ocean Diver.
Marine life
identification helps divers to understand the diversity of
marine life and the need for its protection. A 3-hour program taught by Dr. William Sternecker.
This is a must for all divers, whether you are going on your
first salt-water dive or you’re five hundredth. The program is
based upon Paul Humann’s Reef Fish Identification materials.
NIGHT DIVER
Night Diver
course is designed to make divers into experienced Night Divers.
This informational course will allow you to experience the
differences between diving during the day and at night. You will
learn what is important in selecting a night diving site, the
equipment requirements for safe night diving and some general
night diving recommendations and procedures. The marine life you
will see at night is quite different to that which you are
accustomed to seeing during the day. All those photosensitive
fish that are normally crammed under rock ledges are out
swimming freely around the dive site. The sites you dive by day
will look very different at night so your navigation
skills will be put to the test. This is a must for all divers
looking for a little more adventure.
NITROX
-
May 8 and May 16, 2008
THE BASIC
NITROX COURSE is for all scuba divers. The benefits of diving
with Nitrox Gas are to increase your non-decompression dive
times, shorten your surface interval time, reduce your post dive
fatigue and reduce your chances of decompression sickness. This
Basic Nitrox Course consists of two academics sessions (Nitrox
dive planning, gas analysis and equipment selection). Plus one
day consisting of two openwater repetitive dives using Nitrox
gas.
TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
CONFIGURATION (NTEC)
NAUI TECHNICAL
EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION (NTEC) WORKSHOP: This workshop is
designed so all certified divers can setup their gear
configurations based upon a Modified Hogarthian Equipment
Configuration of “Keep it Simple – Keep it Streamlined – and
Team Uniformity”. In other words, “Just Do It Right”. Having one
system configuration is safe, simple and allows you to move
between Sport Dives and Technical Dives with no or minimal
adjusts. Save time, frustration and dollars. Purchase the
correct scuba system the first time, not the second time.
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY
UNDERWATER
PHOTOGRAPHY 2007, A DIGITAL & FILM WORKSHOP: This is a hands on
Underwater Photo Course. Bring your underwater camera, whether
it be digital or film, or use one of our cameras, and learn the
basics of underwater photography. Many of the topics (lighting,
composition and camera functions) pertain to both digital and
film cameras. New this year, will be a large section pertaining
to Digital Underwater Photography. Session #1 is the hands-on
workshop, session #2 and #3 are your pool shooting assignments
and session #4 is your photo review session.
